Summer Renner
Summer Renner began
dancing at the age of three in Northern Virginia and trained in various
dance forms. She won many titles and high score awards both regionally
and nationally, including placing in the top 12 at the Youth America Grand
Prix. She trained with the Washington Ballet under Miss Mary Day,
where she was a member of the Young Dancers and was an apprentice for the
company. She attended various summer intensives including American
Ballet Theatre, Kirov Academy of Ballet, Joffrey Ballet School and the Dance
Theatre of Harlem. She graduated from Florida State University with a
BFA in Dance and trained under Suzanne Farrell. She was captain of the
FSU Golden Girls dance team, ranked 2nd in the nation, and performed on ESPN
and danced at the NCAA and ACC Basketball tournaments. She also
interned with Broadway Dance Center in NY and performed across the city,
including in Chicago The Musical's dance mob. She currently performs
as a Rockette in the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. She also enjoys
choreographing and teaching for studios and dance teams across the country.
