2011-2012 Studio Policies

         

 

We are glad to have you signed up at Advance Dance! Here are some things you need to know before your classes begin.

 

Tuition & Fees

We accept cash and check payments ONLY. Please make checks payable to Advance

Dance and put your child’s name in the memo space of your check or put cash in an

envelope labeled with your child’s name. All payments should be placed in the payment

box mounted at the studio. A one-time per year family registration fee is due

upon registration. $20 for the 1st student, $10 for the 2nd student, and $5 for any additional students.

Tuition is due on the 1st class of each month. A late fee will be

automatically added to your account for payments not made by the 15th of each month.

There will be a $25 service charge on all returned checks. There are not monthly billing

statements mailed, only late reminder statements will be sent by email or given out when

an account becomes past due. If your account becomes 2 months delinquent, your child

cannot return to class until your account is brought current.

 

There will be a NON-REFUNDABLE costume deposit due by December 14. 30 minute

classes - $50 deposit, 45 minute & 1 hour classes - $65 deposit, 1 hour

15 minute classes - $85 deposit, 1 hour 30 minute classes - $95 deposit. The remaining

costume balance will be due by March 15th. Amounts TBA in February newsletter.

There will be a recital fee due per family by April 12. $20 for 1 student, $35 for 2

students, and $45 for 3 students. This enables you to invite unlimited guests to the recital.

 

Recital

Our annual recital weekend will be Friday, June 22 - Sunday, June 24, 2012 at the Edward C. Smith Civic

Center in downtown Lexington. Specific times and details TBA.

 

Drop-Off & Pick-Up

Dancers will enter the studio at their scheduled dance time. Please be prompt when

dropping off and picking up students. We do not have a lot of excess room in our waiting

areas. 5 minutes prior to class is ample time. CLASSES ARE CLOSED TO ANYONE

EXCEPT STUDENTS AND TEACHERS.

 

Newsletters

There will be newsletters and reminders emailed monthly. A copy of all information is

available on our website or on the bulletin board at the studio. If you are not receiving

your emails, please let your teacher know.

 

Food & Drinks

There will be no food, drinks or chewing gum allowed inside the dance studio rooms.

Vending machine drinks must remain in the lobby or outside.

 

Inclement Weather

Anytime we are closed due to inclement weather it will be posted on our website at

www.AdvanceDancers.com or the studio facebook page (www.facebook.com/advancedance).

You can also check your email for a confirmation or call the Advance location @ 998-2709.

 

Withdrawal

Upon withdrawing from classes, please notify the studio office by email at least 2 weeks

before the last class you will be attending or you will be billed tuition for the following month.

 

What to Wear

Children will need to wear dance attire of their choice, and have their hair out of their

face. Tights are nice, but not mandatory. However, tights or socks will keep dancers from

getting blisters from dance shoes. ALL SHOES SHOULD BE LABELED WITH

STUDENTS NAME AND BROUGHT TO DANCE IN A DANCE BAG. Please send

your student to class with street shoes that are easy to get on. This will help to keep your

dance shoes in good condition. Children will need pink leather ballet shoes and black tap

shoes. Students taking jazz will need black jazz shoes and students taking hip-hop will

need black dance sneakers or jazz shoes. Dancers are required to have proper dance shoes

by 3 weeks after they are enrolled.

 

Optional Events & Fees

We will be participating in the Advance Holiday Parade. Parade wear is available for

purchase and the parade date will be posted closer to the event. You are encouraged to

participate, but it is not required. There will also be other items and services offered

throughout the year that are TOTALLY OPTIONAL! T-shirts, Recital videos, Class and

Individual photos, Recital program books, Program book ads/Good Luck wishes just to

name a few. These are things we do as a service and for the fun of it! You are in no way

obligated to purchase any of these extras.
